History
Founded in 1997 by Andrew and Susie Nugent and still family owned. Originally a dairy farm, Bird in Hand champions social inclusions and advocacy through artisan wine and has 23 hectares under vine in Woodside and planting has started at a recently acquired vineyards in Seymour , Tasmania.
Regional Information
Adelaide Hills has a well deserved reputation as one of Australia's most exciting cool climate areas. Due to its altitude, the region is significantly cooler than its neighbours. Long dry summers and Autumns lead to wonderful acidity in the fruit.

Vinification Details
Spontaneous fermentation in each tank and barrel lasting 7-10 days and the wine left to complete a natural malo-lactic fermentation. The 2023 Chardonnay has 10% new French oak influence allowing the primary fruit to shine whilst adding to the complexity and mouthfeel. Each barrel and tank spent 4
months on yeast lees prior to bottling.
